My name is Eileen and I have Lamellar Ichthyosis. Growing up, I failed to see the value in what it means to be rare. However, the more I became involved with the Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin types (FIRST) and met those like me things started to slowly change! Eventually I created a platform @simplyskin.mag for those with rare + any skin conditions to share their rare skin story! Combing my passions for skin and the creative space allowed me to reach & connect more youth with Ichthyosis at last. That’s when I realized having something so rare has given me purpose in my life as this difference within me is allowing me to make a difference for others:)
